George Erving Bomford died at 6:30 am today at home, 125 F Northwest. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

He graduated from business college at Fort Smith, lived in Oklahoma since before statehood, moving to the territory in 1895, and in Miami since 1907, when he founded an insurance and abstract office. A brother, Wright Bomford, later joined the firm, which became Bomford Brothers Insurance Co. Wright now lived in Tulsa. Since the founder retired 10 years ago, the firm continued as Bomford-Wilson Co., operated by Mr. Bomford's son, Tom S. Bomford, and son-in-law. Paul Wilson. Mr. Bomford was long active in real estate development in Miami, and was a property developer on Grand Lake.

He married Audrey Sheldon, and she survives, with two sons, Tom of Miami, and George E. Bomford Jr., Bartlesville; two daughters, Mrs. Paul Wilson, Miami, and Mrs. Kenneth Campbell, Tulsa; 8 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Services will be announced by Cooper Funeral Home.

Services of George Erving Bomford will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the First Presbyterian church with Rev. J. Donald Kruithof officiating. Burial will be in GAR cemetery under direction of the Cooper Funeral home. Pallbearers will be George Willis Beck, Jack Ellis, John F. Robinson, Walter Schmidt, John Wallace and Dr. H. W. Wendelken. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. W. G. Chesnut, Sam C. Fullerton, Henry Hoffman, Dwight Herendeen, C. E. Lee, F. E. Millner, C. H. Mullendore, Harry Palmer, Chester Stamback, W. Brown Stansell, Clay Stokes, Lyle Wagnon, Hass Watkins, L. A. Wetzell and F. D. Adams.
