COL. BOMFORD DIES
Falls Victim of Pneumonia in France.
The death of Lieut. Col. George N. Bomford of the Twenty-second Infantry is reported among casualties in France. Colonel Bomford died of pneumonia December 4. He is said to have been a native of South Carolina, but no authentic information to this effect is revealed by army records. He enlisted in the regular army in 1896 and saw service in both Cuba and the Philippine Islands. At the time the United States entered the war against Germany he was serving with the rank of captain in the Twenty-second Infantry. He was for a while in command of Wilbur Wright Field, Dayton, Ohio.
