A Yolo County resident for the past 53 years she and her late husband, Byron Arding, owned and operated the Texaco Station at 6th and Main Streets, for many years until her husband closed the station to go to work for a large corporation. Prior to moving to Woodland, she had lived in San Francisco and Berkeley.

She was a person who loved fishing, camping, gardening and especially had a fondness for cooking, preparing and surprising her family with "special" dishes she had created.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Byron Arding; son, Richard Arding; daughter-in-law, Leatha Arding; granddaughter, Vanessa Arding, in 1983; and 12 brothers, a sister and her parents.

A funeral mass was held April 5th at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 301 Walnut St., Woodland, with Fr. John Boll officiating. Interment followed at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
