Deward B. Bonner, 108 E. 7th St., for whom a blood drive was held recently, died Wednesday at the University of Arizona Medical Center in Tucson. He was 69.

The Arizona Public Service Company sponsored the Aug. 13 blood drive at the Elks Club for Mr. Bonner, a retired APS employee. He was undergoing chemotherapy treatments for leukemia at the UA Center.

Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Valley Funeral Home chapel. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the First Southern Baptist Church here, with the Rev. Harry Brooks, officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.

Mr. Bonner was born in Arkansas Aug. 22, 1910 and lived in and around this area for about 38 years. He was a retired
member of the Eloy Volunteer Fire Dept., a member of the Eagles Club in Eloy, the Elks Club in Casa Grande and of Woodsmen of the World.

He is survived by his two daughters, Bonnie Cude, of Mesa and Sue Lamb, of Eloy; a son, Paul Bonner, of California; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mr. Bonner was preceded in death by his wife, Inez Bonner, who died Aug. 28, 1977.
