Gus was a right-handed baseball pitcher for the 1920 Washington Senators, making his major league debut on September 13. He struggled in that game and his next two games, on September 19th and 21st. Gus did pitch exceptionally on October 3, going four innings, allowing just a hit, a walk and no runs, striking out four. It wasn't enough to keep him in the big leagues.
