Our Mother, Sherry Best, passed away peacefully at 2:00 a.m., on the first day of Spring.

Sherry was the mother of seven children, and a valued member of her community.

In 1948 Sherry married Raymond Best from Springfield, Illinois, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She was a member the Catholic Women's League, Legion of Mary and PTA co-president. They divorced in 1971.

Sherry returned to her childhood faith and re-joined Trinity Methodist Church in Idaho Falls. She was Circle Chairman and Historian for the United Methodist Women's organization for many years. Sherry loved to give presentations about current subjects at their meetings.

Sherry attended school in Idaho Falls and graduated from Idaho Falls High School in 1945 in the top ten percent of her class. She earned an Associate Degree in Fine Arts from Colorado Women's College in Denver, Colorado.

Sherry is a noted Idaho Artist. She taught oil, acrylic and pastel techniques. She did commercial art as well. She was a lifetime member of the Idaho Falls Art Guild. Sherry started her own art business called "Sherry's Art Service" in 1967 and retired in 1995. During her art career she attended many workshops. Her paintings have been displayed in Idaho Falls and many other areas.

She was also a skilled speaker, giving many art history lectures. She enjoyed playing bridge and attending her book club meetings right up until recently. Her last book club meeting was held in her room at Bonaventure in Idaho Falls just a few weeks ago. She will be missed by her family and many friends.

Sherry is survived by her three siblings: Betty Yates, of Denver, CO, Robert (Christine) Boozer, of Pasco, WA, and Judy (Ed) Shemeta, of Kent, WA; her children: Sandra (Regis) Hahn, of Idaho Falls, Robert (Cathie) Best, of Pasco, WA, Thomas (Francine) Best, of Caldwell, Joseph (Sandra) Best, of Shelley, Teresa (Greg) McDonald, of Butte, MT, Charles Best & Dale Cusumano, of Boise, and Rebecca Best, of Shelley; 18 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way.
