Adalton Borah Dies In Crash
Accident Occurred Near LaCrosse Friday Evening

The entire community was shocked and saddened to hear of the accident in which Adalton Borah, 23 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Kilby Borah, lost his life about 6:30 o'clock Friday evening. Adalton was killed instantly and Glen Jones Jr., of WaKeeney received minor cuts and bruises when the car in which they were riding, stuck a trailer, loaded with a corn binder.

Adalton and Junior had attended a four-day school sponsored by the Texaco Oil Company, at Hays, and from Hays had gone to Larned. They were returning to their homes at WaKeeney when the accident happened about two miles south of LaCrosse. Junior Jones was taken to the hospital at LaCrosse for treatment.

Adalton had been employed as manager of the Silver Lodge Station at WaKeeney the past four years. He was graduated from the Grinnell High School in 1934, and had spent the greater portion of his life in this community where his friends wee many. To become acquainted with him was to at once become his friend.

Funeral services for Adalton were conducted by Rev. W. H. Robb, assisted by Rev. Woertendyke, Colby, from the Grinnell Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon and interment was in the Grinnell Cemetery. A large crowd of sorrowing neighbors, friends and relatives attended to pay their final tribute.

Those who served as pallbearers were: David Hutchinson, Rex Shearer and Harold Hafliger of WaKeeney; Wm. Peters of Ellis; Loral Barlow and Buford Harrison of Grinnell.

Music was presented by a mixed quartet consisting of Chas. M. Harris, John R. Purman, Miss Mildred King and Mrs. Hazel Litton with Mrs. C. J. Harris at the piano.
