Bordoni, Mary P.

Mary P. Bordoni, 84, formerly of Richard Pl., Ithaca, NY, passed away on November 11, 2014 at the Oak Hill Manor Nursing Home. She was born in Ithaca, daughter of the late Gaetano and Teresa Sacca Pallonari and was the widow of Ralph C. Bordoni, who died March 29, 2014. Mary was a graduate of Immaculate Conception School and Ithaca High School and was a lifetime member of the Immaculate Conception Church. She worked at Cornell University until 1953 when she was stricken with polio. A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Mary is survived by her three children, Karen (Mark) Keller, Mary (Randy) Johnston and Dan (Dianne) Bordoni; her grandchildren, Bryan, Kristin, Kevin, Brianna, Dan, Caitlin and Chris, as well as her great grandchildren, Damon, Lyla, Annalin, Timothy, Cari and Paige. She is also survived by her brother, Rocco Longo; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Anna and Dave Nedrow; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Camillo and Mary Ellen Bordoni and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was also predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Phyllis Longo; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Mary and Anthony Centra; sister-in-law, Carm Longo; niece, Michelle Longo; nephew, David Longo and great nephew, CPL Christopher Bordoni. Polio took away Mary's ability to walk but she stood strong in her faith and was a pillar of strength to her family. She always put her faith and trust in God. Never questioning what he had in store for her. Her bond with Ralph was apparent to all as was her devotion to her family. Before polio, Mary loved to dance. We know she is now dancing in Ralph's arms. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated by Fr. Jeffrey Tunnicliff on Saturday, November 15, 2014 at 11:30 a.m. at the Immaculate Conception Church with burial to follow at the Calvary Cemetery. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations in Mary's memory may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 113 N. Geneva St., Ithaca, NY 14850.
