Son of Zenophile and Odilie (Clairmont) Bourdon, and husband to Helen (Michaels) Bourdon. Fred, as he was know to family and friends was born in Adams, and attended local schools there. Following his education, he served for many years as a member of Company-M in the Massachusetts National Guard.

Fred was employed by the General Electric Co. for 24 years, retiring from that position in 1965. Fred and his family were communicants of the former Saint Francis Church and was a member of the Holy Name Society there. He was also a member of the GE Pensioners Club, and a charter member of the Cartier Club of Adams.
