DOVER — Jeannette F. (Bourdon) Adamczyk, 87, also of Pittsfield, Mass., and Zepherhills, Fla., gave up her long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease and passed away peacefully on Sept. 6, 2011, at Watson Fields Assisted Living in Dover, N.H. She has now joined other family members and friends who passed before her in heaven with the Lord.

Born in Adams, Feb. 2, 1924, the daughter of Wilfred and Flora (Pinsonnault) Bourdon, she attended and graduated from Notre Dame Parochial School and Adams Memorial High School in Adams, Mass. She was employed at General Electric Cost and Accounting Distribution and Power Transformer for 23 years, retiring on March 1, 1986.

On March 3, 1945, Jeannette married William M. Adamczyk, who has been by her side through the good times and bad times for the last 66 years. He kept a watchful eye over her and helped her through her disease.

Jeannette loved being with her family and friends. She enjoyed making all kinds of crafts and playing cards and bingo. She enjoyed dancing and all kinds of music. She also loved to cook everyone's favorite meal.

She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church, where she was a member of its Rosary Sodality. She was also a member of the GE Pensioners Club, the GEAA and AARP.

Besides her loving husband of 66 years, she leaves two sons, William M. Adamczyk of Cumming, Ga., Stephen J. Adamczyk and daughter-in-law, Kathleen, of Germantown, Md.; a daughter, Nancy Turner and her son-in-law (and buddy), Ben Turner of Rochester; seven grandchildren, Bennett and Megan Turner of New Hampshire, Mathew Adamczyk of Georgia, Danielle and Lissa Adamczyk of North Carolina, Bryan Adamczyk of Maryland and John Adamczyk of Florida; four brothers, Wilfred Bourdon Jr., Rene Bourdon, Robert Bourdon and Richard Bourdon, all of Adams, Mass. She also leaves several nieces and nephews.

There will be a Liturgy of Christian burial on Friday, Sept. 9, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Pittsfield. Burial will follow the Liturgy in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Pittsfield. A calling hour will precede the Liturgy from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Devanny-Condron Funeral Home, 40 Maplewood Ave. Pittsfield.
