Nancy Lavinia Bowdler Boggs, 66, of Cumberland passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008 at UK Hospital in Lexington following a long illness.

Mrs. Boggs was a native of Harlan County and had lived here most of her life. She was a cook at Cumberland High School for many years; believed in the Holiness faith; and was a member of Tri City Pentecostal Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Garrett and Clercie Hall Bowdler and two brothers, Garrett Bowdler and Denny Ray Jones.

Survivors include her husband of fifty years, Lloyd Boggs, Jr., Cumberland; three children, Victor Boggs and wife, Sharon, Cumberland; Teresa Maggard and husband, Rickey, Eolia; Anthony Boggs and wife, Veronica, Cumberland; four sisters Julie Broaddus, Stella Ann Boggs, Yvonne Shepherd and Kay Webb; nine grandchildren, Bobby Wayne Fleenor, Christine Fleenor, Jeremy Boggs, Jessica Boggs, Jared Boggs, Kevin Maggard, Josh Maggard, Annie Boggs, and Faren Sturgill; three great-grandchildren, Christian Noah Maggard, Chloe October Fleenor, and Summer Landham; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be held 6-9pm Saturday, July 5, 2008 and Sunday, July 6, 2008 at Tri City Funeral Home in Benham. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Monday, July 7, 2008 in the Chapel of Tri City Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Lewis, Rev. Claude Cress, and Rev. Garland Sergent officiating. Interment will follow in Boggs Cemetery at Blair.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
