Indian Wars Medal of Honor Recipient. Served during the Indian Wars as a Sergeant in Company D, 6th United States Regular Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for his bravery at Cibicu Creek, Arizona on August 30, 1881. His citation reads "Conspicuous and extraordinary bravery in attacking mutinous scouts". His Medal was issued on November 4, 1882.
