Barbara Ann Bowman, 84, of Dyersburg, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.

She was a former registered nurse, member of First United Methodist Church, member of Eastern Star, Cub Scout Den Mother and assisted her husband when he was a Scout Master for the Boy Scouts. She was a graduate of Holy Name of Jesus Hospital School of Nursing in Gadsden, AL and a Patron of the Old Kia Kima Preservation Association, located in Hardy, AR, which provides free camp experience for youth groups.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Melissa A. Cooper and the Rev. Robert Craig officiating. Burial will be in West Tennessee Veteran's Cemetery in Memphis.

The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her son, Mike Bowman and wife, Jenny, of Dyersburg; and a granddaughter, Rev. Melissa A. Cooper and husband, Will, of Fruitland Park, FL.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, H.L. Bowman; and her parents, Bernard and Margaret Emma Glenn Morton.
