Althea married Pearley E. Bowring Feb. 7, 1942, in Madison, witnessed by Geraldine Bowring and Harold Pierpont. They were married for more than 60 years.
Althea enjoyed working on her home doing home improvements and would paint anything she could reach. In her later years, the ladders had to be hidden away to keep her off them. Althea was a very loving person. She cared deeply for everyone from her children and relatives to friends and neighbors. She was very blessed to have the kind and giving neighbors and family that she had, especially after her husband passed. She greatly appreciated the food, transportation, hard work and company she received from her many nieces and nephews.
Althea was predeceased by her all her siblings; her husband, Pearley; and her daughter, Joyce Brant. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie and husband Joe Duenas; son Kenneth and wife Cheryl; her son-in-law, Garry Brant; sisters-in-law Geraldine Dameron and June Bowring; grandchildren Michelle, Bobby and Sean Albert, Stephanie, Joshua, Nathan and Beth Bowring, Sherri and Tracy Brant; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at Giberson Funeral Home, 40 Maple St., in Madison. (Morning Sentinel 10/28/2011)
