SPRING GROVE~Mary Jane (Boyer) Anstine "Janie," 85, passed away suddenly on October 1, 2013, at York Hospital. She was the loving wife of the late Donald L. Anstine, who passed away in 2008. Janie was born in Spring Grove on August 9, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Clarence Boyer and the late Blanche (Day) Boyer. She attended Eichelberger High School in Hanover and worked for Double Day Publishers for over 21 years before she retired. She was a longtime member of Hanover God's Missionary Church, where she helped with Bible School, bake sales and many other fellowship functions. She was a member of the Hanover Organ Club and enjoyed gospel music, attending concerts, bus trips and lunches with her many friends. She also enjoyed attending Southern Gospel Quartet Conventions. Janie was a very loving and caring person. She enjoyed baking and entertaining for her family and friends. She loved her cats, missed her husband dearly, and cherished the time she spent with family and friends. She is survived by her son, Donald E. Anstine and his wife Norma; her grandson, Ronald E. Anstine and his wife Sue; and her great-grandchildren, Rachael and Carter Anstine, all of York. She is also survived by her niece, Doris Baker and her husband Fred of Maryland; her friend and cousin Grace Bair; and many other cousins and close friends. She was predeceased by her brother, Harry Boyer. A funeral service in celebration of her life will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. at Hanover God's Missionary Church, 1285 Hoff Road, Hanover PA with Pastor John M. Fisher officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband following the service at York Road Cemetery in Hanover. Viewings will be held on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Irwin-Beck Funeral Home & Cremation Service PC, 175 N. Main St., Spring Grove, and on Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church.
