Alter, were married Oct. 5, 1935, and lived at the present residence for more than 50 years.
Mrs. Alter graduated from the Waynesboro High School with the Class of 1930. She attended Shippensburg State Teachers College. Following college, she taught elementary school in Quincy for a number of years. She was a member of the Grace Brethren Church, where she was head of the nursery department for more than 50 years. She was a
deaconess of the church and a leader of the Junior Christian Endeavors. She was a member of the National AARP. In addition to her husband, she is survived by two brothers, Russell Boyer of Mont Alto and Daniel Boyer of W.Va. She was preceded in death by two brothers.
Services will held at 2 p.m Tuesday in the Grace Brethren Church with the Rev. Roger K. Myers officiating. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery.
