Minerva Josephine "Minnie" Bradbury was the third daughter of Simona M. Martinez and L. L. Bradbury. Minerva's father, was a highly successful 19th century American businessman who built his wealth in Mexico's mining industry and by acquiring California real estate. Upon LL's death in 1892, he left a sizable fortune to his wife, who was a Mexican national, and to their six children. This fortune was valued at $15 million dollars in 1892, or approximately $100 million dollars in 1990. She married Isaac Hilliard Polk and had three children; Isaac H.
