Helen was an avid crafter and donated countless hours to the Shiners' Hospital for Children in Sacramento knitting and crocheting preemie clothing and blankets along with seasonal crafts and decorations for their fund raising bazaars. She loved spending time in her yard tending her roses and other beautiful flowers. Helen was also a devoted San Francisco Giants fan.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Alan R, Aske, her parents William and Hazel Braden and brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Ethel Braden. Helen is survived by her nieces, Valoree Braden Yates of Kuna, Idaho and Linda Lamb Copp of La Selva Beach, Calif., nephews Norman Lamb of Greenville, Calif., and David Lamb of Danville, Calif., six great-nieces and nephews, numerous great-great-nieces and nephews, companion David Hanisch and many close friends.
A Catholic prayer service will be held at Cochrane's Chapel of the Roses on Wednesday February 3, 2010 at 1 p.m. with private inurnment at the Roseville District Cemetery following the memorial service.
