After graduating from Chaminade High School on Long Island, NY, he moved to California and joined the Navy to travel the world. While his ship was visiting Acapulco, he met a Canadian girl who was to become his soul mate and partner for the next 47 years.
Fred retired as a Warrant Officer in the Submarine Service in 1979. He then began a new career as a successful real estate broker and owner of ERA Eagle Estates in Rancho Penasquitos.
Fred's optimism and love of people and life was infectious. His motto was, "Every day's a holiday and every meal's a feast". He loved nothing better than family gatherings with lots of good food. His passion for golf and the camaraderie he shared with his golf buddies was his greatest joy. Fred will be sorrowfully missed by everyone whose life he touched.
He is survived by his loving wife; his two sons and their respective wives; and two very special people in his life, his grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, and many cousins, aunts and uncles.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital . A celebration of life is being held at Bernardo Heights Country Club in Rancho Bernardo at 11am on Friday, January 13, 2012. Published in U-T San Diego on Dec. 23, 2011
