Funeral Services For Nye Pioneer
"Tonopah - Funeral services were conducted here Wednesday morning for Anna E. Bradley, pioneer resident and educator of Nye County, who died Monday afternoon following a brief illness.
Miss Bradley was born in Belmont, Nye County, when the town was one of the foremost silver-gold mining camps in Nevada. She began teaching at Revelle, at the age of 15, and moved to Tonopah in 1905 where she taught for thirty-four years, most of the time being principal of the grammar school. She resigned from all school work in 1939. She is survived by Mrs. Mary Warner, a sister, in Tonopah.
In respect to her long association with the Tonopah schools, they were closed Wednesday until noon.
Services were held from the Mikula Church with the Rev. Mr. Mikula officiating. Interment was made in the Tonopah Cemetery.
Pallbearers, all former students, were Henry Gilbert, Dick Gilbert, Caroll Humphrey, Horace Campbell, Austin Wardle, and W. J. Franks."
In the 1910 Tonopah census Anna is living on Idaho Street with her mother Rose Bradley. Rose was born about 1838 in Ireland, immigrating to this country in 1850. She is listed as a widow, having had 4 children two still living; the other living child is Rose Mary Warner, age 41, also living with her mother, she was born in NV, married once 1 child born to her, none living.
Also according to this census record Anna was born about 1875, her father was born in Ireland also.
