Born Patrick Thomas Brady, he attended Bishop O'Dea High School in Seattle. He attended Bradley University and later transferred to the University of Nevada where he continued his collegiate football career. While with the Wolf Pack, he set a college football record when he kicked a 99 yard punt during a game in 1950. Brady was selected by the New York Giants during the 13th round of the 1952 NFL Draft. However, he was signed by the Steelers and would appear in 36 career games. Among his highlights include league leader in punts with 80, yards with 3,752 and average with 46.9 in 1953 and average with 43.2 in 1954. Following his football career, Brady became a successful businessman in the printing industry. He was inducted into the University of Nevada Athletic Hall of Fame in 1979, and was named to their "Team of the Century" in 1998. He died from lymphoma.
