Feurman J. Brady, businessman and 69 year resident, of Las Vegas, died Dec. 30, 2005, at age 98. He was born Dec. 8, 1907, in Fairview, Utah, to John Feurman and Anna Hansena Peterson Brady. He came to Las Vegas in 1936, on assignment to manage the small Safeway grocery store on Fremont Street. Under his management a larger facility was built south of the Golden Nugget on the corner of Carson and Second Streets, which became the largest store in dollar sales of any Safeway store or affiliated company in the United States or Canada at that time. In 1947, he founded Brady Industries Inc., a maintenance supply company with facilities now in Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado. He was an elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, served in the Boy Scouts of America, sponsored Little League baseball teams, and was a past president of the Las Vegas Kiwanis. He is survived by his wife, of 76 years, Verl H. Brady; daughter, Alice Myers (Merlin, deceased); sons, Neil (Susan) and Bill (Cindy) Brady; 14 grandchildren; and 23 great-grand-children. The family is grateful beyond measure to the care givers at Aegis Assisted Living and Creekside Hospice for their tender care during his final illness. Private family services will be held under the direction of Palm Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to pay respects are invited to make memorial donations to "Child Haven in memory of Feurman Brady", 701 N. Pecos Road, Las Vegas, NV 89101-2411.
