Farmer W. Brady, Jr., 84, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2006, in Las Vegas. He was born May 7, 1921, in Cleveland, to Minnie Farley and Farmer W. Brady, Sr. He was a product of the Cleveland public schools graduating from John Adams High School in 1940. He attended Fenn College in Cleveland. He worked for New York Central Railroad Company, he then became a mounted carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Cleveland. After leaving that, he was a supervisor for Dornback Company. He then became a truck broker leased to W.H. Fay Company, Cleveland, until his retirement. He was a lifetime member of the Teamsters Union. He was a 32 degree mason. He married Mildred Gilmer, his wife of 60 years, May 24, 1945, in Cleveland. One son, Frank Louis Brady was born to that union, but preceded him in death. Upon their retirement, Farmer and Mildred moved to Henderson in November 1986. Farmer loved his family dearly and was loved by his family and his wife's family. Anyone who met Farmer never forgot him. He is survived by his loving wife, Mildred; a granddaughter, Donna Renee Cook; grandson, Frank Patrick Brady; two devoted sisters, Carrie B. Davis and Edith J. Shadd; nephew, Ralph B. Shadd; cousins, Paula Smith, Catherine Sutton, and Grady and Nelda Farley and their daughter, Margarite; grand niece, Adrianne Shadd; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, at First Henderson United Methodist Church, 608 E. Horizon Drive, Henderson. Memorial contributions may be made to First Henderson United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
