Charles R Brashear, 79, of Carmichaels died at 9 pm Monday, May 9, 1994 in Greene County Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was born April 10, 1915, in Smithton, a son of Alfred and Rachel Boden Brashear. Mr. Brashear was employed at Nemacolin Mine until his retirement May 30, 1972. He was a member of UMWA Nemacolin Local 6290. He was a member of Fairdale Free Methodist Church in Carmichaels. Surviving are his wife, Verna Lindway Brashear, whom he married March 21, l936, in Braddock; two sons, Charles J Brashear of Carmichaels and F Gene Brashear of Strasburg, Va; two daughters, Mrs. Ronald (Catherine) Burch of Carmichaels and Mrs. Darlene Metcalf of Rocky Ridge, Ohio; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a brother, F Leroy Brashear of Nolanville, Texas; and several nieces and nephews. Deceased are a grandson, John Joseph Metcalf; three brothers and two sisters.

Interment in Laurel Point Cemetery, Carmichaels.
