Eleanor Merle Blakeney, 82 of Jackson, MS, died Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Forest Hill Nursing Home in Jackson, MS. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Fellowship Cemetery in Taylorsville, MS. Burial will be in Fellowship Cemetery. Pastor Michael Simpson will officiate. Mrs. Blakeney was a very strong Christian Lady. She spent many hours reading her Bible and singing Christian hymns. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and crocheting. She also enjoyed fishing and enjoyed other outdoor activities. Growing flowers was one of her favorite hobbies.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Riley and Mildred Chappell Braxton; son, Eddie Wilson; brother, Edmond Braxton and sister, Athela Braxton.
Survivors include her husband, Donald R. Blakeney, Jackson, MS; daughter, Rebecca L.
