He was a self-employed plumber. Braxton was a member of St. Mark AME Church and a former member of its steward board and trustee board. He was a past master of Ruth Masonic Lodge 92 and a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Evening Light Chapter 48.
Survivors include his wife, Annie M. Braxton; and a son, Watson B. Braxton Jr. of Virginia Beach.
The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Calvary Cemetery by the Rev. James F. Mason. Community Funeral Home, Virginia Beach Chapel, is in charge.
Memorial donations may be sent to the Virginia Beach Rescue Squad.
