Agnes Brier, 95, of Peabody, Massachusetts, a retired banker who enjoyed playing mahjong, died Friday in Renaissance Gardens at Brooksby Village in Peabody.

Born Agnes Adams in Manhattan, she graduated high school there before moving to Dongan Hills. There, she raised a family before relocating to Lakehurst, NJ in 1975 following her retirement as the operations manager with Bankers Trust Co., Manhattan. She would often golf with her husband, Walter E. Brier, who died in 2002.

After Mr. Brier's death, Mrs. Brier settled in Massachusetts to be near her son, Walter. In her leisure time, she liked to play mahjong and spend time with family.

Mrs. Brier was a former parishioner of St. Ann's R.C. Church, Dongan Hills.

"She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed," said family.

In addition to her son, Walter, surviving are another son, Tim; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held tomorrow from the Peterson-O'Donnell Funeral Home, with a service at 10:00 a.m., in the Brooksby Village Chapel, both in Danvers, Massachusetts.
Burial will follow in Ocean County Memorial Park, Toms River, NJ.
