Mrs. Alda L. Boone, Galesburg Chapel, 88, 911 Lincoln St., Galesburg, IL died at 8:35 AM Saturday August 20, 2005 in Galesburg Cottage Hospital.
She was born July 11, 1917 in Rio, IL the daughter of Clarence and Sophia Briggs. She married LeRoy Boone on October 8, 1940 in Davenport, IA. He preceded her in death in 1972.
Surviving are three sons, Gary (and Iona) Boone, Galesburg, Carl Dean Boone, Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Thomas (and Donna) Boone, Mesa, AZ, one sister, Vera Morrison, Galesburg, nine grandchildren, including Tyler Boone and Tom Boone, Jr., whom she raised, and two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother, one sister, one daughter, and one granddaughter.
She worked for the Knox Laundry for over thirty years, retiring in 1974. She attended the First Church of the Nazarene.
Graveside services will be 11 AM Tuesday August 23, 2005 at Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens with Rev. Ron Scarlett officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at Hinchliff-Pearson-West Galesburg Chapel. Memorials may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene or the charity of the donor's choice.
