Services For Mrs. Kennedy Here Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs. Lettie Briggs Kennedy, 82, 305 Logan avenue, mother of Mrs. Ethelyn Daniels, will be Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the Witbeck-Wheeler-Sablen funeral home. The officiating minister will be the Rev. C. Reuben Anderson, pastor of the Mission Covenant church. Interment will be in Greenwood cemetery, Rockford. Friends may call any time in the funeral home.
Mrs. Kennedy, resident, here many years, died Saturday afternoon at 5 o'clock in St. Joseph's hospital where she has been a patient two weeks. Death was due to a heart ailment and complications following an illness of five weeks.
A daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Briggs, Mrs. Kennedy was born Aug. 19, 1864, at Ft. Covington, N.Y. When a small child she came with her parents to a farm near Poplar Grove.
She later lived here a few years before moving to Rockford where she resided 35 years. She returned to Belvidere in 1932 where she has since made her home.
Surviving Mrs. Kennedy in addition to Mrs. Daniels with whom she resided, are three other daughters, Mrs. George Russ of Herbert, Mrs. Curtis Baldwin of Detroit and Mrs. Florence Lindquist, Rockford.
There are also two brothers, Joseph Briggs, Janesville, and William Briggs, Beloit, as well as a sister, Mrs. James Greenlee, Beloit, and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mrs. William Ford, of this city.
