Juanita Brinson Andrew, 87, of Madison, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, at Thornton Terrace Health Campus in Hanover.
She was born June 26, 1927, in Jefferson County, to Clifford and Hazel Krause Brinson. She worked in the cafeteria of the E. O. Muncie Elementary School cafeteria and later in the Anderson Elementary School cafeteria, retiring as manager after 33 years. She was also a representative for Avon Cosmetics and received an award from the company in 2007 for 44 years of service. She enjoyed playing rummy with her friends at the Madison Moose Lodge. She was a member of the Ladies of the Moose, Jefferson Post 9 of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, the Madison Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary, the Jefferson County Extension Hi-Nabor Homemakers Club and North Madison Christian Church.
She is survived by two sons, Cliff Andrew and Mark Andrew, both of Madison; three daughters, Linda Liter of Bedford, Ky., Kathy Gore of Indianapolis and Susan Lizenby of Flower Mound, Texas; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; several step-brothers; one step-sister; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Andrew, whom she married May 19, 1945, and who died July 9, 1988; one son, John Lee Andrew, who died April 14, 2014; her parents; and one sister, Abbie Hysell.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Morgan & Nay Funeral Centre. Burial will be private in Fairmount Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Sunday from noon until the service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association. Contributions can be made through the funeral home.
