Anita Marie Brinson, 75, of Greenwich, died Friday at her home after a short illness.
She was born Jan. 31, 1918 in Mount Vivtory, Ky., to Albert E. and Carolyn A. Hughes Hasel, both now deceased.
Mrs. Brinson moved to Sandusky as a young girl where she graduated from Sandusky High School in 1936. She graduated from Miami University of Ohio in 1940 with a music degree. She moved to the Greenwich area in 1941.
She taught vocal and instrumental music and English at Greenwich High School from 1941 until 1944. After time off to raise a family she returned to teaching at Fitchville Elementary School in 1962, where she remained until she retired in 1982.
Mrs. Brinson was a member of the North Fairfield O.E.S. 40, the Twentieth Century Reading Circle, past president of the Pleasant Hills Club, the Ladies Aid, the Home Arts Club and the Ohio and Huron County Retired Teachers Association.
She was a trustee of services for the Aging of Huron County and an active member of the Friends of the Library in Greenwich. She attended the Greenwich United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Louise Geller and Suzanne Brinson; and a sister, Carole Patterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice, in 1963 and an infant sister, Betty Hasel.
