Lillian (Brock) Beatson of 15 Pinetree Lane, Columbus, North Carolina, passed away November 3, 1997, in St. Luke's Hospital.
A native of Henderson County, North Carolina, she was the widow of Alexander Davidson Beatson (1917-1980) and daughter of the late Dollie Edgar Brock (1888-1944) and Octavia (Anders) Brock (1891-1941).
She lived in Spartanburg, South Carolina, before returning to Hendersonville, North Carolina, and later moved to Tryon, North Carolina.
She was a graduate of Asheville Teachers College and worked at Adams Millis Textiles in Tryon for 10 years. She was a retired nurse technician from St. Luke's Hospital and secretary of VFW Ladies Auxiliary No. 9116 in Columbus, N.C.
She was a member of Tryon First Baptist Church and Loyalty Sunday School Class, Tryon.
Survivors include a son, Alexander "Andy" D. Beatson of Inman, SC; a sister, Mildred K. Brock of Glen Alpine, NC; two grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Services were Wednesday, November 5, 1997 in the McFarland Funeral Chapel conducted by the Rev. Dr. Darryl E. Maxwell.
Burial was in Polk Memorial Gardens.
