Aged Lady Laid to Rest in Toulon Cemetery.
Margaret Broderick was born in County Galloway, Ireland, December 3, 1830. Her mother died when she was two years old, and at the age of fourteen she came to New York, afterward moving to St. Charles, Ill., where she was united in marriage to William Allen, who departed this life December 5, 1904. To this union were born three children, two sons and one daughter. One son and daughter died in infancy, and one son, John Allen, lives near Toulon.
From St. Charles the family moved to Fairview, Fulton county, and later to a farm west of Toulon. For several years she has made her home with her son John and family.
She is also survived by four grandchildren, Henry Allen, now in France; Margaret Allen, Pauline Allen and William Allen at home.
Death claimed her on the morning of February 4, 1919, at the home of her son John.
She was a devout Catholic all her life, a kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services were held from the Catholic church Thursday morning at 10:30 o'clock, conducted by Father Graham. She was laid to rest in Toulon cemetery.
The pall bearers were Thomas J. Malone, George McRell, C. S. McKee, L. B. Hankins, G. F. Price, and G. C. Platt.
Among those from a distance who came to attend the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Henry Conlon, and son Reynolds, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Hornback, all of London Mills; Mrs. Mary Brady, of Kewanee.
