Mary Ann Bromley Armstrong was born in Lancashire, England. At the age of 12, she came to Toronto with her parents and siblings.

On 27 April, 1884, James ARMSTRONG, bachelor, and Mary Anne BROMLEY, spinster, of Toronto were married by J. Philip DuMOULIN, at St. James Church, Toronto.

In memory of her husband, she donated a stained glass "Rose Window" to St Paul's Anglican Church, Bloor St, Toronto. On her death in 1940, her name was added to the memorial window.
