RUIDOSO, N.M. - Betty Brooks Armstrong, 80, formerly of Hart, Texas, and Clovis, died Wednesday, July 6, 2011, in Albuquerque.

Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Hart Cemetery in Hart with Robert Hawkins officiating. Arrangements are by Colonial Funeral Home of Dimmitt, Texas.

Mrs. Armstrong was born Oct. 26, 1930, in Plainview to Robert and Jewell Brooks. She married Deward Armstrong in 1948 and graduated in 1949 from Hart High School.

Survivors include two daughters, Linda Autrey of Carrizozo and Cynthia Chumley of Joshua, Texas; two sons, Terry Armstrong of Grants and Kent Armstrong of Lubbock, Texas; a brother, Bob Brooks of Amarillo, Texas; 13 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Susan G. Komen Foundation, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
