Bessie "Betty" Florence Alford
Betty was born March 14, 1922 in Mc Cay, Queensland, Australia to parents, Herbert and Martha Brough. She passed away on October 4, 2012 in Everett, Washington at the age of 90.
On September 13, 1944, Betty married Sam Alford in Mc Cay, Queensland, Australia.
Betty was a loving wife and mother and her life was devoted to raising her children, Steve and Terry. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for some 64 years where she served as Past Grand Ruth and Escort to Past Grand Patron, Sam. Among her many talents, Betty cooked the World's best Cherry Pie. Betty is preceded in death by her husband, Sam Alford; her parents, Martha and Herbert; sister, Melba; brothers, Allen, Walter and Fred; and grandson, John Alford.
She is survived by sons, Steve Alford and Terry Alford; grandson, Miles Alford; and great-grandson, Sam Karl Alford.
A Celebration of Betty's Life will be held Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4504 Broadway in Everett.
