Geraldine Lois "Gerry" Amundson of Chatfield died Thursday (Sept. 2, 2010) at Saint Marys Hospital in Rochester, where she had been a patient for several weeks. She was 80 years old.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 4, 2010) at the Chatfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jean-Claude (JC) Duncan officiating. Interment will be in the Chatfield Cemetery.
Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. There will be no reviewal.
Gerry was born Jan. 10, 1930, in Fountain to Carl and Avis (Manning) Brown. She graduated from Chatfield High School in 1947, and married Walter Amundson in 1950 at the United Methodist Church in Chatfield. She was a homemaker, and her husband was a farmer. Her husband passed away on March 29, 1989.
Gerry enjoyed playing bridge, being up at Lake Kabetogama, and other various hobbies.
Survivors include five sons and one daughter, Gary (Susan) Amundson of Stillwater, Mark (Gayle) Amundson of Chisholm, Alan (Joni) Amundson of Chatfield, Jim Amundson of Chatfield, Janet (Roger) Guderian of Chatfield, and Curtis (Sarah) Amundson of Clarkson, Ky.; 10 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; two brothers and one sister, Betty Lou Smith of Vancouver, Wash., Dale Brown and Lee Brown, both of Minnesota.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her mother and father; a son, Keith; and a sister, June Marzolf.
