Marianne Ash, 79, of Cornell passed away Saturday, Jan. 31, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Chippewa Falls.
She was born the daughter of Gordon and Ruth (Guse) Brown Dec. 10, 1929, in Augusta. She graduated from the Cornell High School in 1949. Marianne married Howard Ash Feb. 25, 1950, in Cornell. She had worked for the Cornell Nursing Home. Marianne was also employed by the Cornell School District as a Teachers Aide working with special needs children and also worked in the school library and computer lab. She was a member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Cornell.
Survivors include her children, Tim (Melissa) Ash of Chippewa Falls, Dan (Gloria) Ash of Austin, Minn., Ken (Jane) Ash of Holcombe, David (Jane) Ash of Cornell, Marty (Lisa) Ash of Cornell, Keith (Rita) Ash of Chippewa Falls, Jan Ash of Eau Claire and Ruth (Mark) Strizic of Jim Falls; 16 grandchildren, Robyn, Bryan, Erica, Kevin (Jess), Brittany, Ryan, Derick (Jodi), Elizabeth, Rachel, Hannah, Jayme, Jenna, Carisa, Cheyene, Dalton and Nathan; two great-grandchildren, Carter and Ellenor. Also surviving is one brother, Bob (Dorothy) Brown of Gordon.
Marianne was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 4, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Cornell with Rev. John Hosmann officiating. Burial will be in the Cornell Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Borton Funeral Home in Cornell and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
