She was a graduate of New Castle High School in 1927, Jameson School of Nursing in 1930, University of Pittsburgh in 1951 and Westminster College in 1956. She retired after 26 years as a school nurse in the New Castle Area School District. She previously was an industrial nurse for United Engineering Co.She was a member of the Jameson/Shenango Alumni Sigma Theta Tau Honor Society of Nursing, Pennsylvania Association of School Retirees, College Club of New Castle and Jameson Aid Society. She was a member of Savannah United Methodist Church, where she served on the official board, was treasurer for four years and the financial secretary for 10 years.
Survived by her nieces and nephews.She was preceded in death by her parents; six sisters, Ruth Neefe, Grace Bergen, Olive Rung, Thelma Body, Isabel Weinschenk and Adeline Denny; and one brother, Frank N. Braatz.
