BISHOP, Anne Orr Brunton formerly of Tarpon Springs, was born Aug. 2, 1916 in Edinburgh, Scotland, and passed away peacefully May 5, 2014, in Winter Park. Strong, tough, smart, loving but demanding, she always put the interests of her children and grandchildren ahead of her own. She was best known for cooking enormous family dinners for upwards of thirty people that gathered relatives, relatives-of-relatives, friends-of-relatives, those considered to be relatives through friendships dating back 60 years or more, and the occasional stray. Her only real regret in life was running out of mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving one year, a horror she made certain was never repeated. She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Douglas Allen Bishop; her siblings, Margaret Melville Brunton Vickers, Mary Swinton Brunton Miller, David Brunton, George Ferguson Brunton, Robert Brunton; and grandson, Eric Haeberle. She will be profoundly missed by their three daughters and their husbands, Margaret Taylor (David), Karen Berg (Bill), and Heather McCauley (Steve); grandchildren, Douglas Haeberle (Jan), Nicole Carter (Rob), Kristen Rogers (Mitchell), Bill Berg III (Mandy), and Steve McCauley Jr.; as well as her great-grandchildren, Zachary and Chad Haeberle, Bailey, Mackenzie and Jack Carter, Alexandra, Zoe and Cole Rogers, and Harry Berg IV. A memorial service and interment will be held later this summer at Hillcrest Cemetery in Hamburg, NY.
