Betty Sutherland Bean 82, of Yuba City, CA, passed away March 27, 2011 at her residence. Born January 7, 1929 in Springfield, MA. Betty came to California in the 1950's. Betty had been a member of Calvary Christian Center since 1971. She was a breast cancer survivor and a member of the Red Hat Society, and was a former beauty salon owner. She loved to cook and have weekly family nights. Betty loved making quilts for family and friends, and had a passion for crocheting dresses for over 100 Barbie dolls. Betty was a very special woman and will be missed greatly by family and friends. She has gone to be with her Lord, and husband John.

Survivors include her son and wife, son with whom she lived; 2 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband John Leonard Bean, father Robert Esty Buchanan, mother Frances Ellis Swain Buchanan, a brother Herbert Ellis Buchanan, and son Glenn Allen Bean. Visitation is scheduled for today, Wednesday, March 30, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Ullrey Memorial Chapel in Yuba City. Graveside services will be conducted Friday, April 1, 2011 at 10:00 AM at Sutter Cemetery.
