William Eugene Bucher, 72, of San Marcos died Monday. He was born in Escondido and was an underground inspection supervisor for San Diego Gas & Electric Co.

He served in the Army. He was a member of the San Marcos Volunteer Fire Department and the San Marcos Historical Society.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Bucher; sons, Steve Bucher of San Marcos and Kevin Bucher of Long Beach; and three grandchildren.

Services 11 a.m. tomorrow, Allen Brothers Mortuary, San Marcos Chapel, 435 N. Twin Oaks Valley Road, San Marcos. Interment San Marcos Cemetery, 1021 Mulberry Drive, San Marcos. Published in U-T San Diego on Jan. 11, 2007
