FROSTPROOF -- Mr. Merle Jackson Bullard Sr. of Frostproof died of heart failure Saturday (May 15, 2004) at home. He was 71.
Born in Bartow on July 20, 1932, he was a lifelong resident. He was a deputy sheriff for Polk County. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a Baptist.
Mr. Bullard is survived by his daughters, Cynthia Hartline, Winter Haven, and Brenda Register, Frostproof; son, Merle Bullard Jr., Frostproof; brothers, Charles Bullard, Rockledge, and George Bullard, Gonzales, La.; sisters, Betty Caudill, Lake Placid, Joyce Albritton, Frostproof, and Linda Simmons, DeFuniak Springs; four grandchildren; and one greatgrandson.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Marion Nelson Funeral Home of Frostproof. Burial will be in Silver Hill Cemetery.
