Chandler, Ariz. --- Herbert Buntrock, 76, of Chandler and formerly of Aberdeen, died Monday, May 14, 2001, at his home.
His committal service will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery in Columbia. A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Columbia. The Rev. Craig Grams will officiate.
Bueler Mortuary in Chandler is in charge of arrangements.
Herbert Buntrock was born June 21, 1924, to Herman and Elise (Podoll) Buntrock in Brown County. He graduated from Columbia High School. He served in the U.S. Army in World War II and Korea for three years. He worked for the First National Bank of Aberdeen for nine years.
He married Virginia Gross on April 12, 1953, in Aberdeen. They lived in Aberdeen before moving to Arizona in 1962. He worked for Motorola for 23 1/2 years.
He was an active member of Epiphany Lutheran Church in Chandler.
Survivors include his wife of Chandler; three children, Jeff (Kathy) Buntrock, Vicky (Richard) Miller and Terry Buntrock; three sisters, Gertrude Rehfeld, Esther Herther and Irene Healy; two brothers, Egon Buntrock and Walt Buntrock; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by twin sons, one brother and one sister.
The family prefers memorials to the Epiphany Building Fund, 800 W. Ray Road, Chandler, Ariz. 85225-6717.
