Robert Carl Buntrock was born on July 11, 1928 near Columbia, SD to Albert and Bertha (Kluck) Buntrock. This is the area where he grew up until his parents moved to Denver, CO. As a teenager he lived with his sister Agnes in Mitchell. As a young man he joined the US Army during the Korean Conflict. Bob was one of the few picked to run Teletype in Europe. After his discharge he married Shirley DeHoet on June 22, 1954 at Houghton, SD.

Robert died Wednesday, October 11, 2006 at Beverly Healthcare, Redfield.

Bob was known as a "jack of all trades" He was equally efficient to all construction. He worked with Woody Jasmer, Les Crawford and Herb Schaeffer among others before creating his own business called Buntrock Concrete Construction.

Bob was an avid bowler and golfer. He loved the Vikings. He adored his four grandchildren. At the age of sixty-four he suffered a major stroke and spent the last twelve years in the nursing home. He family loved him dearly and he will be missed very much.

Grateful for having shared Robert's life are his children, Valerie (Tom) Schnieder, Livermore, CA, Lenard Buntrock, Houghton, SD, and Yvonne Morissette, Aberdeen, four grandchildren, Jeremy Schnieder, Matthew Schnieder, Nicole Morissette and Allison Shaw, brother, Eldon (Sharon) Buntrock, Las Vegas, NV, sisters, Bernice (Bud) Kessler, Denver, CO, Eleanor Heath, Lompoc, CA, Della (John) Kenfield, Valley Springs, CA and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bertha Buntrock, wife, Shirley, brothers, Luverne, E. Paul, Arnold Buntrock, sisters, Agnes Loon, Dorothy Becker, Inez Whittkup, Alma VanDover and Eileen Buntrock.

Funeral service for Robert Buntrock, 78, Aberdeen at Spitzer Funeral Home with Pastor Tom Haggar officiating. Private inurnment will be at the Houghton Cemetery, Houghton.
