Funeral services for Augustine Ballard Burch, of Brookhaven, were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, at Brookhaven Funeral Home Chapel on North Jackson Street, with burial in Rosehill Cemetery in Brookhaven.

Visitation was Wednesday at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Mrs. Burch, 92, died Dec. 28, 2010, at her residence. She was born in Eddiceton on July 22, 1918, to A.M. Ballard and Iris Griffing Ballard.

She was a receptionist with Dr. Stribling, and a volunteer at King's Daughters Medical Center and prison ministries. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Brookhaven and was a Sunday school member there, as well. She was a poet, with published books of poetry.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Burnell Burch; an infant daughter; and six siblings.

Survivors are her son, Ronny Burch of Vicksburg; her daughter, Vicky Swalm of Brookhaven; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice Ministries or Baptist Children's Village.
