FULTON : Mittie Burch Beard, 93, died Tuesday, May 02, 2000, at the Daniel Health Complex. She was born June 16, 1906, in Itawamba County to George and Willie Lunsford Burch. She was a retired homemaker and, at the time of her death, the oldest member of East Fulton Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dewitt Bain and Bro. Eugene Digby officiating. Burial will be in East Fulton White Church Cemetery.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby and Anna Lois Beard of Fulton; a daughter and son-in-law, Eloise and Brodia Wilson of Strongsville, Ohio; a stepson, Junior T. Beard, and his wife, Nell, of Fulton; a sister, Ethel Mae Guntharp of Fulton; a brother, Noel Burch, and his wife, Kathleen, of Birmingham, Ala.; three sisters-in-law, Tula Burch and Syble Burch, both of Fulton, and Virginia Burch of Franklin, Tenn.; a son-in-law, John Butler of Hendersonville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; 16 great-great-grandchildren; seven step grandchildren; 19 step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Jeff Castleberry and David H. Beard; two daughters, Betty Beard and Mary Francis Butler; three brothers; a sister; and five step grandchildren.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today.
