Billy "Bill" Gene Burke, 64, of Billings, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2012, at home with his wife by his side.

Bill was born in Walnut Ridge, Ark. on July 15, 1947, to Leonard and Wanda Burke. He grew up in Kennett, Mo., with his six siblings.

Bill served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He married Romona "Mona" Burke in 1994 in a good old-fashioned hillbilly wedding in Indiana.

Bill worked at Yellowstone Valley Electric Co-op for 25 years, where he made many good friends. He was always the one to tell you just like it was.

He enjoyed boating and camping with his family and friends; he loved his family and spent as much time with his grandkids as he could. Recently Bill found a great liking for golf.

Bill was preceded in death by his sister Brenda; mother Wanda; and father Leonard.

He is survived by his son Jeff who serves in the U.S. Army in Germany; daughters Misti of Billings, and Jill of Illinois; stepdaughters Ellie and Amy of Billings; and siblings Benny, Danny, Sherry, Roger, and Ronnie, all of Missouri. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren.

"Bill, you will be sorely missed. We love you, PaPa."

Cremation has taken place.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday July 6, 2012, at the Huntley United Methodist Church in Huntley, Mont.
