Regina Mae Bender, born March 22, 1925, to William and Scandia (Steiner) Burke in Superior, Montana, died October 23, 2010 at 12:08am, in San Diego, Ca.
One of eight children, Regina is survived by her only living sibling Royal Burke of Garrison, Montana. Loving mother to Mary Regina (Binky) Peterslie (Pete), Roberta Louise (Bobbi) Amador, Laura Lee (Lulu) Pasqua,(Greg). Grandmother to Amanda Bender, Steven Peterslie, Carrie (Peterslie) Pate, Andrew Burke Hernandez, R. Nicole Abajian, Lauren Elan (Abajian) Espinosa, Nicholas Amador and Benjamin Lee James Pasqua. Great-grandma to Stephenie Bernal (deceased 2009) Eric Bernal, Christina Bernal, Jeffery Pate, Kaylynn Pate, Sammy Peterslie, Haley Peterslie, and Elan A. Espinosa, (born June 26, 2010).
Regina was known and worked many years as" The Lunch Lady" at Ella B. Allen School and Sunnyside School in Bonita. She also worked many years (after her divorce from Robert Lee Bender (deceased 2001) at the North Island bowling alley as their "Short Order Chef." ( Mom was known for being the best cook on San Miguel Road.)
She retired 20 years ago, and has lived in Chula Vista forever. She will be placed at Glen Abbey in Bonita.
Gina is now with her very best friend, Mary B. Thompson, having a cold one. Enjoy Mom, you're the best !
