Betty was born March 5, 1935. She was named after Betty "Boop" by her parents, Harold and Lucille Falconer. Betty has three sisters, Agnes Ingram, Dolores Johnson and Charlotte Teal.

Betty was born in Sharon, Oklahoma and traveled to California as a young child with her parents and sister. She met a young man, Robert L. (Bob) Burks and they were married in 1952 in Merced. They soon started a family and had three beautiful children, Bobbie, Donna and Chuck.

Betty B. was a fantastic cook and she loved cooking for everyone. She worked as a chef at Century Bowl, Knight Club, C. T. Bucks and Merced Living Care.

Betty loved life, and there was nothing more important to her than family. She is survived by daughters Bobbie Perkins and Donna Cates; grandchildren Cori, Christen and Geordi and great grandchildren, Erin and Ricky.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 3, 2006 from 2:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 4, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Merced District Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Betty's requested that you make a donation in her name to Hinds Hospice at P.O. Box 763 Merced, CA 95341.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stratford Evans Merced Funeral Home.
